Norbert Hutt
Norbert "Norby" Hutt, a lifetime
resident of the Winchester area, passed away at Winchester District
Memorial Hospital on Fri., March 7, 2008. He was 83.
Norby was born in Mountain on May 9, 1924 to his parents William
and Ola Hutt (nee Francis). He worked for the Royal Bank of Canada,
and he served with the Canadian Armed Forces before getting a
job as a lineman with Ontario Hydro in 1948. He worked for Ontario
Hydro for 40 years until he retired in 1988.
He was a talented woodworker who made many beautiful pieces of
furniture for family and friends. He was an avid golfer, and he
enjoyed spending quality time at home with his family.
He was the cherished partner of Diana Arnold. He was the proud
father of Wayne (Vicki Bovin) of Morrisburg, Dale (Nancy) of Chesterville,
and Faye (Garth) Baker of Riverside Heights. He was the dear step-father
of Kendra (Barry) Sullivan of Chesterville, and Duane Burd (Tammy
MacDonald) of St. Andrews West. He was dearly loved by his siblings,
Francis (Elaine) of Kingston, Doreen Taylor-Alexander of Kemptville,
and Donnie (Gladys Parks) of Iroquois. He was the cherished grandfather
to Jennifer, Kirk, and Korrine, and great-grandfather to Emma,
Ben, and Ava. He will be fondly remembered by his step-grandchildren
Cassie, Curtis, Dana, Megan, and Matthew. He was predeceased by
his parents, William J. and Ola A. Hutt (nee Francis). He is survived
by his first wife Norma McKercher, and several nieces and nephews.
There was no visitation or funeral service. Interment of cremated
remains will be in the spring at Maple Ridge Cemetery in Chesterville.
