M. Alice Lewis
M. Alice Lewis (nee Lamoureux) of Winchester, formerly of Mountain, passed away on Sept. 17, 2008 at Dundas Manor. She was 87.
She was the wife of the late Jack Lewis, whom
she married on Dec. 18, 1941 in Marionville. She was born on March
28, 1921 in Mountain Township to the late Eli and Millie (nee
St. Pierre) Lamoureux. She is survived by her children Beatrice
Curry (Robert), Ronald (the late Lynda), and Arnold (Gwen), grandchildren
Michael (Kelly), Michelle Kushner (Eric), Kimberly Lewis, Robyn
Lewis (Bruce Morris), Andrew (Shelley), and by eight great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by all of her siblings.
She was a farmer and a housewife. She was a member of St. Daniel's
Catholic Church in South Mountain and of the St. Daniel's Catholic
Women's League.
The funeral was held at St. Daniel's Catholic Church on Sept. 19 with Father John Gillis officiating, followed by interment at St. Daniel's Catholic Cemetery. The pallbearers were Don Durant, Henry Vandenbrock, Lorne Renwick, Keith Smith, Keith Last and Jack Palmer. The honourary pallbearers were Don Rose, Allison Fawcett, Ray Guy, Gordon Stobo, and Lyle Barkley.
