Russell Marcellus

Russell Marcellus passed away on Oct. 18, 2008 at the Winchester District Memorial Hospital. He was 86.
He was born on Jan. 23, 1922 to the late William and Ida (nee Ouderkirk) Marcellus. He is survived by his dear wife of 61 years, Doreen (nee Faulkner). He was the beloved father of Gail (John) Bell, Don (Nada), and Lorna (David) Van Bridger. He was the loving Poppy to Robyn (Michael) Nolan, LeeAnne (Jason) Kee, Will and Emily Van Bridger, and Jessica and Jennifer Marcellus. He was the great-grandfather of Andrew and Abbey Nolan. He is survived by many nieces and nephews, including Doug Ouderkirk and Cate Harmidy. He was predeceased by his brothers Francis and Douglas; RCAF, Second World War, and his sister Gladys (the late Ralph) Ouderkirk. He was the brother-in-law of Ruby Faulkner, Reta (the late Glenn) Raymond, Marlene Faulkner, Malcolm MacGregor, Shirley (the late Hector) Carruthers, and Faye (Elwood) Coons. He was predeceased by brothers-in-law Donald and Jack Faulkner, and sisters-in-law Helene Crump and Estella MacGregor.
Russell was a 60-year life member and Past Master of Chesterville Masonic Lodge #320.
The funeral service was held at the Chesterville Funeral Home on Wed., Oct. 22 with Rev. Wendy Wright-MacKenzie officiating, followed by interment at Maple Ridge Cemetery in Chesterville.
