George Perry
George Perry, a resident of RR2 Chesterville
for the past 17 years, passed away suddenly at the Ottawa Heart
Institute on Mon., June 23, 2008. He was 73.
He was born in Toronto on May 27, 1935 to his parents Eldon and
Alice Perry (nee Lepine).
He married Jeanne Bent on Sept. 7, 1957 and together they had
three children: Sheila, John, and Neil. He lived in the Toronto
and the Uxbridge areas until 1991 when he and Jeanne moved to
RR2 Chesterville.
George will be fondly remembered by his family and friends for
his dry sense of humour and his interest in hunting and golfing.
He enjoyed reading National Geographic magazine and then quizzing
his grandchildren on various topics, watching "The Duke"
on the old movies, and drinking his CC and water, which he had
drank in every state except Alaska. He was well respected in the
business field.
He is survived by his wife Jeanne, his children Sheila Appleton
of Brockville, John (Wanda) of RR1 Chesterville, Neil (Colleen)
of Sunderland, and by his siblings Robert (Leslie) of Guelph,
Shirley Dynes-Hutchinson (George) of Pickering, as well as Barbara
(John) Kaszuba of Thunder Bay. He was a loving Poppa to Maegan,
Rebecca, Savannah, Joshua, Nathan, Jesse, and Carly. He was predeceased
by his parents. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Friends called at the Marsden and McLaughlin Funeral Home in Williamsburg
on Fri., June 27. The funeral service was held at the funeral
home on Sat., June 28 with Rev. Elaine Beattie officiating, followed
by cremation. The pallbearers were John Perry, Neil Perry, Joshua
Perry, Rob Perry, George Perry, and Maegan Appleton.
Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Winchester District
Memorial Hospital would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
