Rose Thompson
Rose Thompson (nee Suffel) passed away peacefully
in hospital on Wed., Feb. 6, 2008. She was 73.
She was the devoted wife and helpmate of Robert Thompson, and
loving mother of John, Christiane (Jason), Leslie, and the late
Brian. She was a proud grandmother to six grandchildren. In their
retirement years from Scotiabank, Rose and her husband "Bob"
bought the Noble Motel and Restaurant in Norland, Ont., where
they developed a wide circle of friends, and offered good food
and friendship.
Rose was born at Inkerman Station to Arnold and Christena Suffel,
the youngest of a family of seven. Left to mourn her passing are
Russell (Lorna), Doris Ennis (Gordon), Donna Metcalfe, and sister-in-law
Geraldine Suffel. She was predeceased by her brother George, sister
Marion Kilgour, infant brother Douglas, and brothers-in-law Joseph
Kilgour, and Clarence Metcalfe. Thirteen nieces and nephews will
miss their Aunt Rose's cheerful and loving disposition.
A celebration of her life was held in the chapel of Marshall's
Funeral Home in Richmond Hill.
Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be gratefully
acknowledged.
