Glenn George Dudman
RN (Ryerson) BScN (University of Toronto)
March 13, 1953 March 29, 2009
With tremendous sadness we mourn the sudden loss of our beloved
partner, friend, brother, uncle and colleague. Glenn George Dudman
died suddenly in the arms of his loved ones at the Ottawa Heart
Institute on Sun., March 29, 2009.
Glenn was a gentle soul, and was the light in so many of our lives.
His sparkling eyes and smile, great sense of humour, charm, kindness,
and the joy he took in simple pleasures never faded. For 25 amazing
years he was best friend, companion and partner in crime to Mike.
Predeceased by parents Ken and Dorothy Dudman, and "second
mom" Vivian, Glenn was a cherished brother to Murray and
Brenda, Anne and Paul, Jim and Marilyn, Ellen, Carol and Dave,
Ron, and "adopted" sister Lisa and husband Michael.
He was a much-loved uncle to Matthew, Katie and Christopher, and
was welcomed like a son by Ron and Anne.
He was a long-serving employee of the Ontario Ministry of Health
and Long-Term Care in Toronto where he developed important friendships
with colleagues like Sandra, Susan, John, and Deborah. Crazy about
Toronto, he loved his relationship with the Metropolitan Community
Church. He was a great friend of Elisabeth and family, Bobbie
and Ann, Robert and Masoud. In Ottawa he found new friendships
and support in Ken and Jane, Lisa, Nancy, and Mike R. After moving
to Mountain he became buddies with Barb and Leroy, Dave and Carol,
Jim and Beth, Linda, Ruth Anne, and Joyce.
All your love and support have meant so much to Glenn and Mike
during a difficult journey. Mike and the family extend our deepest
gratitude for the technical expertise and loving care of the staffs
at Winchester District Memorial Hospital Emergency Department,
Ottawa General ICU, the CCU team at the Ottawa Heart Institute,
and the amazing air and land ambulance teams.
Memorial services are being planned for Toronto and in the Mountain
area, and will be announced soon.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Metropolitan Community Church
Toronto (www.mcctoronto.com) or the hospice of your choice would
have been appreciated by Glenn.
Be at peace Glenn we will love you forever.
