Richard Delano Peterson
It is with great sadness that we announce the
passing of Richard Peterson of Mountain on Thurs., April 9, 2009
at the Ottawa Hospital, General Campus, after a year long battle
with myeloma. He was 63.
Richard was born June 21, 1945 in Hardisty, Alta. to the late
Margaret and John Peterson. After moving to Calgary, Alta. he
enrolled at Technical School and trained in Electronic Maintenance.
It was in Calgary where he met his future wife, Carol Bryan. They
were married in Calgary on April 8, 1971. Together they moved
to Hallville where they built their home and raised their two
daughters. In 1977, Richard began employment with CBC in the electronic
maintenance department. He retired in 2006 with 29 years service.
He was the caring husband of Carol and the cherished father of
Jennifer Nelson (Rick) and Leslie (Paul). He was the proud Poppa
of Zackery, Anthony and Amy Nelson. He is survived by his sister
Nancey McAllister (the late Laurence), sisters-in-law Caroline
Peterson (the late Glenn), Bunny Peterson (the late Manley), Sharron
Peterson (the late Clarence), Marion Nelson (the late George)
and brother-in-law George Bryan (Arlene). He was the uncle and
great-uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by
his mother and father-in-law, Hilda and Lester Bryan, and his
nephew, Bryan Peterson.
Following Richards' wishes, cremation has taken place.
Carol, Jennifer and Leslie would like to extend their appreciation
to family and friends for their support.
"Gone but not forgotten.."
The funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Byers Funeral Home
in South Mountain.
