Elzeon Raistrick
Elzeon Raistrick was born on Jan. 1, 1944 and
died suddenly on Tues., Oct. 20, 2009, in his 65th year.
He was the son of the late Pat and George Raistrick. He is survived
by his sons, Denzil (Denny) and his wife Amy of Johnstown, and
Rob (Razor) and his wife Lyane of Barrhaven. He was the proud
Papa, and the "apple of his eyes" were his four grandchildren:
Mercedes, Emma, Callum, and Taylor. Elzeon is survived by three
sisters Judy McIntosh (Jack) of Chesterville, Darlene Alexander
(Larry) of Vernon, and Susan Peplenskie (Dennis) of Nepean, and
many nieces and nephews. He was the special friend of Roger and
Betty Lou Cole and Anthony and Sandy Vogrig.
Elzeon attended local schools where he was Head Boy of the Students
Council at Winchester High School. He was an employee of Nestlé
for 36 years. In his younger days, he was very involved as a fastball
catcher, coach in minor hockey, and referee with ODHA for over
25 years. In the community, he was a long-time member of the Winchester
Fire Dept., and past president and 30 year charter member of the
Winchester Lions Club. He was a long-time vendor at McHaffies
Flea Market in Morrisburg. December was his favourite month because
he enjoyed bringing a smile to young kids faces when he had his
"Ho Ho" costume on.
Visitation was held on Fri., Oct. 23 at the Daniels Funeral Chapels
in Winchester. The funeral service, officiated by Rev. Blair Paterson,
was held in the chapel on Sat., Oct. 24, followed by inurnment
at Maple Ridge Cemetery in Chesterville.
