Laurie Irwin Summers

Laurie Summers of Winchester passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Tues., Nov. 3, 2009. He was 88.
He was the beloved husband of Mabel (Holmes) Summers. He was the loving father of Ernest (Brenda) of Cobourg, Dana (Jayne) of Portland, Sylvia of Kanata, Richard of Ottawa, and Suzanne (Hakeem) Akintunde of Winchester. He was the cherished grandfather of Angela, Sarah, Jennifer, Katherine, James, and Carissa, and the great-grandfather of Ethan, Emalee, Hailie, and James. He was predeceased by two brothers and six sisters. He will be fondly remembered by the Holmes family.
Family received friends at the Daniels Funeral Chapels in Winchester on Thurs., Nov. 5. The funeral service was held in the chapel of the funeral home on Fri., Nov. 6 with Rev. Thurland Brown officiating, followed by interment at Maple Ridge Cemetery in Chesterville. The pallbearers were Mike Morris, Dean Hansma, Carissa and Jamie Summers, Sarah Clark, and Wayne Hutt.
