Frederick Walter Wicks

Fred Wicks of South Mountain passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness at the Winchester District Memorial Hospital on Sat., Feb. 7, 2009. He was 70.
He was the son of Laura and the late William Wicks. He was the beloved husband of the late Rena Nevins (nee Dumoulin), and the loving step-father of Lucille Bolton (Gary) of South Mountain, Mary Ann Stewart (Gord) of Winchester, Alex Nevins (LuAnn) of Greely, Jeffery Nevins of South Mountain, Wayne Nevins of Ottawa, and Rita Martin (John) of Vars. He was the cherished grandfather of many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was the dear brother of Pearl Dewar (Don), Jim (Lisa), Billy (Eunice), Earl (Eileen), Gerald (Barb), Bert, Barbara, Steven, and David.
By Fred's request, there will be no visitation. A memorial graveside service will be held in the spring.
By family request, donations may be made to the Lung Association.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Byers Funeral Home in South Mountain.
