Eileen Alice Barkley
Eileen Alice Barkley (nee Paul) passed away suddenly on Fri.,
Aug. 13, 2010 in her 86th year.
She was the beloved wife of the late Ralph Barkley. She was the
loving mother of Jim (Judy) of Chesterville, Lois Whitteker (Paul
Judson) of Johnstown, and the late Larry. She will be missed by
her grandchildren, Shelley (Vince) Cousineau, Tracey (Geoff) Hare,
Mark (Johanna) Barkley, David (Nichelle) Barkley, and Julie (Lee)
Sinner; great-grandchildren Brooke, Brandon, Jessica, Britney,
Tyler, and Chloe; and many nieces and nephews. She is survived
by her sisters Isabel Hunter, Rita (Jack) Meunier, Pat (Reg) Hutt,
Yvonne (Fred) Veley, Gail (Casey) VanGessel, and sister-in-law
Dorothy Paul. She was predeceased by her parents, Napoleon and
Mildred Paul (nee Price), sisters Clara, Rose, and Irene, and
brothers Emmett and WIllis (Sonny).
Eileen enjoyed reading, playing Rummikub with her family and friends,
and watching soaps.
Friends called at the Marsden and McLaughlin Funeral Home in Chesterville
on Mon., Aug. 16. The funeral service was held in the funeral
home on Tues., Aug. 17. Pastor Joachim Barkley-Probst of Dunbar
Lutheran Church officiated, and Sandra Barkley-Probst sang Amazing
Grace and The Lord Is My Shepherd. The pallbearers were Mark Barkley,
Jean-Paul Meunier, Mike Verdon, Gordie Paul, Vince Cousineau,
and Adrian Vingerhoeds. Interment followed at Maple Ridge Cemetery
in Chesterville.
Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society in Eileen's memory are
greatly appreciated.
