Berneyce Allene Carlyle
Berneyce Carlyle (nee Dillabough) passed away
suddenly on Tues., Dec. 15, 2009 at her home in Chesterville.
She was a life-long resident of Morewood and Chesterville. She
was the beloved wife of the late Donald (Peter) Carlyle, and the
dear sister of Doonie of Burlington. She is lovingly remembered
by nephews Brent (Cara) and Craig. She is survived by her brother-in-law,
Jim Carlyle of Brockville, and by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Berneyce commuted for over 20 years to Ottawa from her home near
Morewood to the Central Mortgage and Housing Corporation where
she was employed as an executive assistant. She was a life member
of the Presbyterian Church and was involved in many church and
community activities. She was also a member of the Women's Missionary
Society, and the Ladies Auxiliary, and volunteered for the Canadian
Heart and Stroke Foundation and the Canadian Cancer Society, as
well as for the Women's Institute.
Music played an important role in her life, and she played the
piano and sang in the choir. Berneyce enjoyed travelling, camping,
knitting, reading, and participating in many charitable organizations.
She was active into late middle age until arthritis forced her
to curtail her activities. She remained a dedicated reader and
an enthusiast of crossword puzzles.
She will be sadly missed by her family and many friends.
In keeping with her wishes, a private graveside service was held
on Dec. 18, 2009 at Maple Ridge Cemetery in Chesterville.
Donations to the Winchester District Memorial Hospital would be
appreciated.
The funeral arrangements were entrusted to Daniels Funeral Chapels
in Winchester.
