Martha Elizabeth 'Bessie' Craig
April 28, 1917 - July 3, 2010
Martha Elizabeth "Bessie" Craig (nee Balkwill), formerly of Kemptville, Ont., passed away peacefully at the Woodland Villa Nursing Home, in Long Sault on Sat., July 3, 2010. She was 93.
She was the wife of the late Francis Everard Craig. She was predeceased by her parents, George Howard Balkwill and Robena Mary Beggs from Mountain Township in Dundas County.
She is also predeceased by siblings, Winona, Donald, Clair, and James, as well as a son, Franklin "Frank" Richard.
She is survived by one son Don (Jan) of South Dundas, five grandchildren, Marnie (Geoff) James, Corrinne (Derek) Tupper, Vicki (Paul) Oevering, Laura (Doug) Underhill, and Kevin (Kerry) Craig; 11 great-grandchildren, Craig (Tammy) James, Caitlin James, Colin Tupper, Sarah and Taylor Oevering, Nathan and Eric Smithson, Sean, Patrick, Emily, and Erin Craig; one great-great-grandchild, Leah James, as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
The funeral service was held at the Marsden and McLaughlin Funeral Home in Williamsburg on Tues., July 6 at 11 am. Interment followed at Union Cemetery in Oxford Mills. Pallbearers were the great-grandchildren.
