Ella Deeks
A lifetime resident of the Williamsburg area,
Ella Deeks passed away at the Winchester District Memorial Hospital
on Fri., Sept. 10, 2010, following a brief illness. She was 87.
Ella was born in Williamsburg Township on March 22, 1923 to her
parents, Anson and Carrie Deeks (nee Allison). Following public
school, she worked for a short time at Caldwell Linen Mills before
health problems forced her to retire and stay at home where she
helped her parents and her sister, Clara, operate the farm. Ella
was an excellent cook, and she enjoyed crocheting.
Ella is survived by her sister, Clara Deeks of RR #1 Williamsburg,
and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Anson
and Carrie Deeks (nee Allison), and sisters Eleanor Spearman and
Dorothy Spearman.
Friends called at the Marsden and McLaughlin Funeral Home in Williamsburg
on Mon., Sept. 13 from 10 am until time of service at 11 am at
the funeral home with Rev. Eldon LeRoy officiating. Interment
followed at Spruce Haven Cemetery in Brinston. The pallbearers
were Donald Spearman, Gordon Spearman, Kevin Eastman, Jordan Eastman,
Jeff Eastman, and Steven Simmons.
Donations to Winchester District Memorial Hospital would be gratefully
