Helen Louise Gillespie
Helen Louise Gillespie (nee Van Bridger), a
resident at Quinte Gardens in Belleville, and formerly of Morrisburg
and Ottawa, passed away peacefully at the Belleville General Hospital
on Tues., Sept. 21, 2010.
Born Sept. 26, 1917 in Winchester, Helen was the daughter of Thomas
(T.O.) and Margaret Van Bridger. She was the beloved wife of the
late Stanley Gillespie (1968), and dear mother of Gary "Gus"
(Barbara) of Toronto, and Mary Zadow (Larry) of Belleville. She
was the dear sister of James Van Bridger of Ottawa. She was predeceased
by brothers George, Jack, Ted, and sister Jean Baldwin. She was
the much loved grandmother of David (Alison), Thom (Krista), Matthew
(Maggie), Heather (Tim), Emily, Dan, and Adam (Gillian) and great-grandmother
of Malcolm, Duncan, Louie, Henry, Sophie, and James.
The funeral service was held at St. Matthias' Anglican Church
in Winchester, where she was baptized, on Sat., Sept. 25 at 1
pm with interment at Maple Ridge Cemetery in Chesterville. A reception
followed at Wesleyan Methodist Church in Winchester.
Donations in Helen's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke
Foundation.
The funeral arrangements were entrusted to Quinte Cremation Services.
