Verla "Mabel" Morrow
Mabel Morrow, a resident of the Dundas Manor Nursing Home, formerly
of Morrisburg, passed away peacefully at the Winchester District
Memorial Hospital on Wed., Oct. 6, 2010, in her 81st year.
She was born in South Mountain on May 31, 1930 to her parents,
the late Ernest Arthur Marriner and the late Dulcie Belle Sheppard.
She was the beloved wife of the late Kenneth Morrow, whom she
married on Nov. 12, 1949 at St. Peter's Church in South Mountain.
The wedding was officiated by Rev. B.G. Adams. She was the dear
mother of Ken (Helen) of Inverary, Tom (Mary) of Cornwall, Laura
Morrow (Richard Church) of Victoria, B.C., Bill (Kim) of Iroquois,
Joanne Morrow (Pete McIntosh) of Ottawa, and Patty (Brian) Tinkler
of South Mountain. She was the loving grandmother of Jeremy, John
(Cindy), and Steve (Trish), all of Morrisburg, Jennifer (Jamie)
Carr of Cornwall, Alissa and Carly Church, both of Victoria, B.C.,
Ryan of Kingston, Drew attending Carleton University in Ottawa,
Michaela at home in Iroquois, Samuel McIntosh of Ottawa, Brooke
Tinkler of Ottawa, Dustin and Dylan Tinkler of South Mountain,
and the great-grandmother of Marin, Grace, Emma, Kaleb, Samuel,
all of Morrisburg, and Charlotte and Mitchell, both of Cornwall.
She was predeceased by a daughter Nancy (1961), a sister Olive
Casselman, and by brothers Art, Gord, Ted, Clarence, Leonard,
Walter, Harold, and Stan Marriner.
Friends were received at the Parker Funeral Home, 28 Sir James
Morris Drive in Morrisburg on Tues., Oct. 12. The funeral service
was held in the funeral home Wed., Oct. 13 at 1 pm with Rev. Jon
Martin officiating, followed by inurnment at Maple Ridge Cemetery
in Chesterville.
