Wayne Leroy Phillips
Wayne Leroy Phillips passed away Fri., June 11, 2010 in Savannah,
GA at the age of 71.
Wayne was predeceased by his parents, Merwin Clarence and Blanche
Luella Badger Phillips; his brothers, Manderson, Erwin, and Ethan;
and by his son-in-law, John Lortie.
He was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of
Elks #772 Ogdensburg, NY, and a member of The Loyal Order of the
Moose, Order #1010, Ilion, NY Lodge. He was a co-partner with
his brother for 10 years of a funeral home in Fort Covington,
NY, and he was an appliance and air conditioner repairman and
entrepreneur in Fleming, Georgia, and New York for 54 years.
He was formerly married to JoAnn M. Bachand of Lakeland, Fl. He
was the father of Julie Lortie (the late John) of Williamsburg,
Dean Michael (Jamie) of Watertown, NY, and Kevin Joseph (Shelley
Dawn) of Clay, NY. He was the grandfather of Jason John Denio
of Ottawa, Kyle William Jarvis of Williamsburg, Brittany Suzanne
Lortie of Toronto, Joshua R. Phillips of Potsdam, NY, Mariah Lynn
Phillips of Clay, NY, and Katlyn Marie Grice (David) of Fulton,
NY. He was the brother of Lorraine Lemon (Frank) of Allegany,
NY. He leaves behind to mourn his loss, his best friend and care
giver, Joyce Mae Reiff.
Funeral services were private.
