Ray Prunner
A lifetime resident of the area, Ray Prunner died suddenly at
his home north of Morewood on Tues., July 6, 2010. He was 61.
Ray was born in Winchester on April 28, 1949 to his parents, Irwin
and Orma Prunner (nee Deeks), and was raised in Nation Valley.
He attended school at Toyes Hill and Winchester. In July of 1971
he married Leoma Winters who predeceased him in 2004.
Ray worked for over 25 years as a custodian at Winchester District
Memorial Hospital where he made many friends.
Ray is survived by his mother, Orma Prunner of Williamsburg; his
son, Kelly of Kingston; his grandchildren, Dillon, Kari, Ryan,
and Taylor Prunner; his sister, Twylla (Charlie) Whitteker of
RR# 3 Williamsburg; his brother, Denzil (Gayle) of RR#2 Iroquois;
and his brother, David (Cheryl) of Assiniboia, Sask. He was a
very dear and best friend to Archie, Marilyn, Kurt, Pam, and Tieke.
He is also survived by nieces and nephews. He was predeceased
by his wife, Leoma Winters, his father, Irwin, and his nephew,
Willie Prunner.
Friends called at the Marsden and McLaughlin Funeral Home in Williamsburg
on Sat., July 10 from 10 to 11 am, followed by a graveside service
at Maple Ridge Cemetery in Chesterville, with Theresa Burry officiating.
The pallbearers were Robert Whitteker, Kevin Whitteker, Kurt Heuff,
Pam Heuff, Mike Matte, and Jim Wittkie. The honourary pallbearers
were Archie Heuff and Barry Rombough.
Donations to the Canadian National Institute for the Blind or
the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario would be appreciated
by the family.
