William Timmins

William (Bill) Allen Timmins of Kirkland Lake passed away peacefully at Extendicare on Tues., Aug. 10, 2010, in his 83rd year.
He was the beloved husband of Sheila Timmins (nee Brooks). He was the son of the late Dora Annie (MacDonald) and Dalton Parker Timmins of Inkerman. He was the dearly loved father and father-in-law of Kathryn Cowell (Robert Leach) of Pembroke, Peter (Katharine) Timmins of London, Susan (Jim) Sigal of Etobicoke, Ken Timmins (Katie Walker) of Iroquois Falls, and Steven Timmins of Kirkland Lake. He was the cherished grandpa to Matthew and Michael Timmins, Shane Cowell (Brittany Hanniman), Kirsten Cowell (Anthony Zadow), and Erin Sigal, and great-grandpa to Tanyon Cowell and Elliot Zadow. He is survived by his sisters Frances (Gordon) Helmer of Ottawa, and Pauline of Inkerman, and was predeceased by his brother Kenneth Andrew. Bill will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.
As a retired teacher from KLCVI, Bill was always pleased when former students spoke to him about how important he had been in their lives.
The family will welcome friends at the Monette & French Funeral Home, 450 Government Road West, Kirkland Lake, (705-567-3565) on Thurs., Aug. 19, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Fri., Aug. 20, at Kirkland Lake Trinity United Church at 11 am with Rev. David Bould officiating. Bill will be laid to rest in the Knights Cemetery in Inkerman at a later date.
