W.W. Wilson
OPP veteran of 31 years
W.W. Vern Wilson of Ottawa, died June 26, 2010 following a long
battle with cancer. He was 67.
He was born March 20, 1943 in Foresters Falls, Ont., the son of
the late Maurice Wilson and Muriel Waite. He was predeceased by
two sisters; Merle and Gloria. He leaves behind his sister, Wanda
Meilleur of Pembroke, his son, Tom (Glenda) Wilson of Toronto,
his daughter, Kelly (Jason) Porteous of Osgoode, and four grandchildren;
Earl, Abigail, Isaac, and Eliza Jane.
Vern was a proud member of the Ontario Provincial Police where
he completed 31 years of dedicated service to the force, working
across the province in Morrisburg, Winchester, Sharbot Lake, Owen
Sound, Hawkesbury, and finally Kanata, where he retired in 1994.
A memorial visitation will be held at the Malcolm, Deavitt &
Binhammer Funeral Home, 141 Renfrew St. in Pembroke, today, Wed.,
June 30, from 9:30 am until time of the service in the chapel
at 11:30 am. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer
Society would be appreciated.
